Maki, Lerato and Tebogo have been friends for the better part of their lives. Maki is a journalist with ambitions of becoming a scriptwriter on a soapie, so when she meets Tumelo the filmmaker, her life takes a turn. Lerato has just given up her title as a slay queen to form a relationship with personal trainer, Seputla. She is madly in love with Seputla but her old life comes knocking when her ex, Bra Aubrey, makes it clear that he wants her back. Tebogo feels stuck in her eight-year relationship with Tshepo. When she tells him how she feels, he proposes to her, but when she meets the actor, she falls heedlessly in love and theirs becomes a whirlwind romance with dire consequences.
