Charles Munch & Boston Symphony Orchestra

In 1958, conductor Charles Munch and the Boston Symphony Orchestra recorded these two works for RCA. Claude Debussy was fascinated by the sea throughout his life, spending his childhood there and often visiting the coast even as an adult. "La Mer" he wrote in Paris around 1904/05 and in it he sketches a chimera, something that grows out of fantastic colors, incalculable winds and foreign voices. Jacques Ibert's "Port Of Call" was also written after a trip to the Mediterranean and is inspired by the musical styles found there. We recommend the use of "L'Art du Son" LP cleaner to wet wash your vinyl. Even new records of high quality production will benefit from this.
