One day, Canadian musician Cory Weeds opened an email that read, “Are you Cory Weeds, the tenor saxophonist?” The email was from Kevin Gray, who had worked on several mastering projects for Weed's archival record label “Reel to Real”. The question seemed strange to him, but he answered in the affirmative. Gray then asked him if he wanted to make a record for him and told a remarkable story: his granddaughter Amber had begun to share his love of jazz music. One day she saved a track she particularly liked and thought her grandpa would like it too. She played it for him – and he was impressed, indeed.
