The James Taylor Quartet's final album for the Acid Jazz label was a return to their roots with 11 tracks of straight-ahead Hammond instrumentals. It is the sound of the touring Quartet - which was a six-piece, plus a percussionist - doing what they did best: playing together. The music stretches from Lonnie Liston Smith-style Jazz Funk, through out-and-out Funk, tinged in places with touches of Keith Emerson. 15 tracks. Beat Goes Public. 2009.
