Drama in which the parents of two severely ill children find themselves caught up in a romance. Marissa (Jacinda Barrett) appears to have the perfect life. She is beautiful, rich and has a charming husband David (Richard Roxburgh) and a son, Jack (Tom Russell).

However, when Jack is diagnosed as suffering from cancer, things begin to fall apart. David's confession that he has had a series of affairs causes disruption to the marriage, yet if he has fathered an illegitimate child this could be the source of the bone marrow transplant Jack's life depends on. In the midst of all this, Marissa meets Connor (James Nesbitt), an Irish father who also has a sick son.

Marissa and Connor bond over their children's bedsides, but can a burgeoning romance survive the trauma of a children's cancer ward?
