Dogman

Italian crime drama co-written and directed by Matteo Garrone. The film follows dog groomer Marcello (Marcello Fonte) as he slowly slips into a life of crime. Through dealing cocaine on the side to earn a bit more money, Marcello meets former boxer Simone (Edoardo Pesce), who convinces him to help rob the jeweller's next door to Marcello's grooming parlour.

After being arrested and refusing to pin the blame on Simone, Marcello serves a year in prison for his misdeed. When he is finally released he is ostracised by his former community but returns seeking vengeance against his old friend.
