The Gypsy & The Count
S S Engle
Eastern Europe has seen a difficult, and bitterly cold winter. Russia has finally come out on top after intensive holiday struggles. It is crucial to keep that forward momentum intact, but the people have had enough. The stifling unrest has begun to boil over, and protests are breaking out in all the major population centers up and down the Eastern Front. It has become too much for the glorious Romanovs to endure, and the Czar has been forced to abdicate his throne after the family's illustrious three-hundred-year rule. On the streets, it seems Russia has never been happier. The Bolsheviks are promising a solution to all of their country's problems; war, work, and famine being chief among them. With the initial collapse of the aristocracy, the Count of Kaliningrad and his dependent inner circle are working desperately and feverishly to maintain a hold on their already diminishing wealth and status. In the meantime, the gypsy presence has enjoyed a somewhat surge of support. In the crosshairs, Aanya is refusing to make a decision that has landed squarely on the Count's shoulders. As 1917 dwindles down, it is unclear who will be able to take the upper hand in a newly formed society. Can a tarnished Count with a gypsy past make a new life for himself?
