In only a few months the High Society's once seemingly endless and untouchable authority has been shaken to its core. The Lake Crew has finally taken the upper hand, but their allies in the Greenhouse Protectorate are not as willing to take the high road. Against orders terrible acts take place against the High Society oppressors. While justly earned, the acts don't sit well with Spencer, and while trying to make an effort to make amends, she is reminded of just who she's been fighting all these years. It's been 553 weeks since the massacre at Paradise Falls that claimed the lives of 50,000 people, but to most people, it still feels just like yesterday. The wounds that have been kept open for over ten years are dying to be closed and scarred over. The end is so near, and freedom is so close that the Lake Crew can taste it, but there are still things that need to be taken care of first. Spencer knows what has to be done, what should be done, but she doesn't want to have to be the one to do it. One can't beat the enemy by becoming the enemy. But maybe there's another way to finally have peace reign again over a war-torn people?
