Marissa discovers she is pregnant after her college-student boyfriend leaves for Christmas vacation, then transfers to another school and changes his phone number and e-mail address. To escape the cost of living in New York, she decides to go live at a family ranch in Wyoming she has inherited, only to discover that the ranch was in trust for all surviving relatives. Murdock, a distant cousin is the other inheritor. When Murdock arrives, Marissa is sure he is going to disrupt her life on the ranch.
