In book 3 of the You Only Get To Be A Kid Once Book series, Boom Boom hasn't seen his Dad in a while but gets some great news when his Mom tells him that she has spoken to his Dad and says that his Dad will be coming by to see him. Boom is ultra-excited and cannot wait for his Dad to show up. Boom waits patiently for his Dad to arrive and he refuses to give up hope. Suddenly, three troubled kids, who don't have their Fathers, approach Boom and tell him that Dads are overrated. Once they see Boom is listening to them, they try to convince him to become one of their brothers. If Boom Boom Dad doesn't show up soon, Boom just might turn to the three boy's to be his family.
