The Scent of Rain Robyn Locksley

Sparks flew when serendipity struck, and Brick Starling first met Aurora Bradley. The magnetism between the two was obvious to everyone around them. In The Ocean in a Thunderstorm, Aurora told her version of the events. Every story has two sides. Now it's time to see Aurora through Brick's eyes. Brick Starling is a small-town firefighter who has been on countless empty dates, searching for a spark he cannot find. His mind always travels back to the girl in the picture he saw in Miss June Bradley's living room. The girl whose picture he has carried around in his pickup truck for years, even though he's never met her in person. Aurora Bradley. Brick has been captivated by her all this time, even if she seems as unattainable as a dream. When he learns of her engagement, he tries to end his fascination with her through any means necessary. A fateful accident puts Aurora right back in his path again, and this time - in person. Brick finds the real version of Aurora even better than he had allowed himself to imagine. She's unlike anyone he has ever met. Passionate and enticing, Aurora has all the intensity of a thunderstorm, maybe even a whole hurricane. After hearing the news that her brief engagement was called off, Brick's hope is renewed. As he comes to terms with the depths of his feelings for Aurora, he struggles to keep his affinity a secret from her. Time will tell whether this is a true love story or an almost love story...
