School language policies is a set of rules and regulation on language use by the learner in a learning institutions. Over the years there has been a growing interest for learners to acquire communicative competence in more than one language apart from their first language in order to meet the ever demanding job market needs. To this end The language in education policies developed by government agencies have developed policies which encourage learning institutions to educate learners to communicate in more than one language. The schools in turn drawing from national language policies and language in education policies have developed language policies aimed at improving learners communicative policies.school language policy is an important factor to second language acquisition because it affects learners opportunity to produce comprehensible output. The policies may affects learners attitudes and motivation towards a particular language. Some policies may violate learners linguistic human rights. This book provides insight on how language policies affects language acquisition. In addition it traces the connection between school language policies and national language policies.
