Amoebiasis: Disease Overview: an Emerging Threat to Human

The book is written on infectious disease Amoebiasis which is a serious threat to human. Amoebiasis or Amebiasis refers to infection caused by the protozoan parasite Amoeba. It is a gastrointestinal infection that can remain latent in an infected person for several years. Symptoms of Amoebiasis range from mild diarrhea to dysentery with blood and mucus in the stool. If the parasite reaches the bloodstream it can spread through the body, most frequently ending up in the liver where it causes amoebic liver abscesses. When no symptoms are present, the infected individual is still a carrier, able to spread the parasite to others through poor hygienic practices. While symptoms of Amoebiasis is very similar to bacterial dysentery and both infections can be prevented by good sanitary practices. It is not an encyclopaedia but, I hope the book would be guide for and student and research to understand the disease.
