Heaven always knew what she wanted to do with her life. From as long as she could remember she wanted to act. Her dream was to one day perform on Broadway in New York City, the place where she was born and raised for the first thirteen years of her life. But those dreams were dashed when her father's company transferred him to San Francisco, which meant he and the whole family had to move. She left everything behind; her dream, her friends, and the life she knew and loved. Twelve years later, after her parents' tragic accident, she decided to make the move back across the country to try and regain the life she thought she lost. But now she has more responsibility, being named the guardian of her fifteen-year-old sister, Destiny. Somehow, someway she has to make all of this work. John, an Executive Chef at one of New York City's exclusive restaurants, has everything he has ever wanted except one thing. When he was eight years old he fell in love for the very first time, and that love has stayed with him all of his life. Back then he was too afraid to admit his feelings so he settled for the next best thing, friendship. They were close, always doing things together, spending time at each other's houses, and having little adventures. But that all changed when he was thirteen and her family moved away. She was lost to him forever, and every day since he has regretted never telling her how he truly felt. Will Heaven ever see her dream come to fruition? Or will her new responsibility change what she wants out of life? Will John ever find what he has been missing for all these years? Or will he continue to live his life as half a man?
