Drink Chocolate Milk with Your Demons Diane L Mathias

The lyrical stories, poems and mystical tellings in this book will fascinate you, inspire you and enable you to unlock the doors that hold your stories captive. Your creative work longs to be free and now, Diane L. Mathias, healer of the wounded writers, holds her torch high as we enter into the cave of treasures. "Come on!" she cries out, "There is wealth and riches within!" In this book, Drinking Hot Chocolate with Your Demons and Other Secrets for Writers, Mathias discusses and illustrates (in vibrant color) what causes writers to stop writing. Written in her eclectic style of fantasy merged with facts she offers medicine (or chocolate milk) to set the creative ones free. "Our authentic voice can be a very powerful yet a greatly feared part of our expression. As writers move deeper into their creative journey, we might become afraid of not playing small anymore or we may become aware of the depth and power of our words. Our work can cause the inner critics to rise up and we don't know how to escape them. Writers and artists will then often retreat. These are only a few of the reasons why writers become stuck." After 30 years of teaching writing and the creative arts, Mathias boldly addresses these issues and more. Enter into these sacred spaces and drink deeply so you may find your hidden stories that wait to be told. This book is a cry of bravery and passion. It is a place of wisdom, whimsy and a glimpse into sacred places.
