The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus Christopher Marlowe

The original Elizabethan play by Christopher Marlowe, the Tragedy of Doctor Faustus, based on the German legend of the man who risked damnation for the sake of absolute knowledge. Edited and annotated by John D. Harris, its spelling and punctuation modernized, supplemental text includes background to legend, discussion of Marlowe's life and suspicious death, and excerpts of the English Faustbook of 1592 that inspired the play.
