Married twenty-plus years to a prestigious New York attorney, Lydia Myers appears to have it all: money, college-age children, multiple homes, and exotic vacations. Yet, she's incredibly unhappy, lonely and bored. When her husband's philandering and need to control become intolerable, Lydia makes a choice to leave New York and go to Paris. She finds herself pursued by a detective as she begins the task of self-examination with a beautiful city as her backdrop and, with art materials in hand, discovers a talent in portraiture as she faces the hardest question of all: Where am I going in my life? In an action-packed adventure filled with unexpected twists and turns, she deftly evades the detective as she passes her time with quirky, eccentric friends, a philosophical cab driver and the detective who's tracking her. Through the cobblestone streets of the most romantic city in the world, she dons disguises and outsmarts her husband until she reaches the inevitable conclusion that her marriage is over and she must return to New York.
