The sins associated with addiction arise from pursuing and fulfilling the desires of the flesh. The Bible offers an alternative to the desires of the flesh for the follower of Jesus. The alternative that allows the follower of Jesus to please God and be free from addiction is called walking by the Spirit. This volume probes the Bible texts that command the follower of Jesus to be controlled by the Spirit rather than being controlled by desires that led to addiction in the first place. There are explanations regarding what it means to be filled by the Spirit and to walk by the Spirit. There are also practical suggestions offered for how to walk by the Spirit.
