As the planet warms and there is no sea ice the Ishigaq find themselves trapped between the northern Arctic coast and predators moving north from the south. Given no option they move further north but encounter sea faring people who challenge their way of life, beliefs and culture. At 30 centimetres tall your body can be easily controlled but your mind and spirit cannot. Follow the trying times of the Ishigaq, as the very essence of who they are is challenged by those who would colonize them, given the opportunity. Her Allness Nipster may be old but she is as tough as they come! Can the Ishigaq adapt? Will they be colonized, and if so, what will become of them? Why did Her Allness Nipster need to demonstrate how tough she is at her age?Ishigaq are people 30 centimetres tall of Alaskan lore. They live in the arctic in an underground colony. These books are set in the arctic and promote positive values and will stimulate thought about contemporary issues like global warming, conflict versus cooperation and the value of traditional knowledge, self-determination and leadership.
