Hunt's new deputy marshal, Ace Sterling, returns from Chicago and joins the team in time to accompany them on a trip to Utah to bring peace to a small town invaded by a family of ruffians. Hunt is asked by the Phillip-Armour Meat Packing House to get them some hogs and beef cattle. They have acquired vital contracts and are running low on slaughter animals. While returning from Green River bandits rob the train that Hunt and his men are riding on and the effects have endless repercussions for a rancher and his family.
