A successful accountant with an uncanny eye for financial crime, Pasha Stern begins her new career as a private investigator after assisting the FBI in solving an international crime and working closely with Special Agent Larry Smith. Pasha's moral dilemma of risking her life to rescue two young men she'd already deemed guilty and unworthy weighed heavily on her. Pasha is a complicated woman who struggles with her family's history, her need to control, and her fear of relationships. Throughout the book, Pasha seeks a deeper understanding of herself and where she fits in the world while fighting off bad guys and solving crimes. She's funny, irreverent, tough as nails, and soft as putty.
