The author, Ruby L Johnson, is a native of Bobo, Mississippi. She moved to Memphis, Tennessee in 1967. She received her bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Christian Brothers University. She received her master's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Leadership from Belhaven University. She worked several jobs in the capacity of Staff Accountant and Account specialist. She is owner/chef of Ruby Lee's Specialty a catering service "Irresistible Flavors That Savor" and specializes in soul food, healthy eating and more. Ruby was the owner of Ruby's Sizzling Skillet, a soul food restaurant that specialized in healthy lifestyle. She coaches on lifestyle changes and how to maintain good health . She is a five times Half Marathon runner. Ruby is an Ordained Minister of The New Olivet Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Kenneth T. Whalum, Jr. She accepted the call from God to preach on July 1, 2007, and was ordained on December 20, 2009. She is an active member of several of the 12-Plan Ministries of The New Olivet including Music, C. A. N. A. (Couples Achieving Newness Again), Healthy Congregation (Facilitator for The Cooking with Olives), and Mission (Prison Ministry). She wrote this book because of her love for the people of God.
