Giovanni Navone - 25 Compositions for guitar solo
Marco V Bazzotti
Giovanni Navone, son of Domenico, born in Villanova di Asti in 1839 came from a well-known family of musicians. Today, we consider him the founder of Piedmont's guitar school for his having trained almost all of Turin's guitarists of his time. [...]Within the present collection, the rhapsody, Souvenir de St. Paul stands out. Giovanni Navone received the First Gold Medal Prize while performing it in the middle of September 1892. [From the Foreword by M. Bazzotti]
