Pauline Smith, is a young black woman, a victim of domestic abuse who fights the old myth of its acceptance in the African culture as a norm. Growing up, Pauline saw the effect of her father's raging anger on the entire family. Her mother was normally the recipient or punch bag. Bandages and plasters on her body are no surprise to her neighbours, family and friends. She loses her friends, loved ones and becomes depressed. After the initial honeymoon period in her marriage, her husband becomes possessive and rule their household with an iron fist. One day, she is shaken out of her evening slumber as a gun is pointed to her by a masked intruder. She is interrogated and beaten for things she knows nothing about. Thank God the intruder found a box containing the information he sought. Pauline determined to uncover the truth, begins investigating; this would in fact help her fulfil her childhood dream job ambition. She uncovers life changing evidence that will impact her life in any case. Her findings snaps the timidity out of her, she is willing to lose her last breath and will not give up. The end takes a generation by storm and her late mother looks down proudly at her from the heavens.
