Ms. K. G. N.'s "The Troubled Contemplation: A Chapbook" is a sophomore effort that attempts to unravel the concept of thought. As it commences on a whimsical note, it almost imperceptibly descends towards a murkier tone, asking questions such as, "What makes a 'good poem'? What does it mean to pay homage to your past while giving reverence and introspection to your present and future? Why does the mind tend to harbor so much pain when better times are finally in bloom?" As these queries are tackled, so is the idea that those things which are less can be more and those things which are more can hold greater depth than first realized.
