Adrian and Juliette Felstead were a young married couple who had been together for 8 years. They were still as much in love as they had been in the beginning. They had a small group of friends in the neighbourhood, who envied them for their calm and untroubled lifestyle. When tragedy hits them it is a struggle for Juliette, and her friends rally round, but eventually they leave her to her own devices when she shows them that she needs some space. She has plans and she doesn't want any of them to interfere with what she intends to do. Taking one last look at her house, she walks into the dark winter's night and gets into her car. She knows that Adrian would discourage her if he knew, but she feels certain that in the end he will be glad that she took the steps that she is about to take.
