Magic draws up pictures of mediocre tricks done at a kid's birthday party, slide of hand, or at best, showmen doing illusions on stage. The arcane word majic, spelled with a J, is a very real tangible power. Bartholomew J. Heart, had it all, a good job, plenty of money, and a hot man as a boyfriend. He soon discovers that majic is a very real thing and the power that majic endows, has a price. Barty, finds himself thrust into a world where majic is a talent that is inherent in only a few and that he is to be leader to a small group of these Majickers. He finds himself paired for life with a familiar, who is a small Sprite, and that together they will be a force to be reckoned with. Their pairing and power will be tested in the ultimate fight against a being of pure evil. An evil that craves to control all the souls of every world and dimension. In their battles against the forces of this malevolent creature, Barty's fiancée, Richard and mentor, Samuel are kidnapped and he and his team of Majickers must race to save their lives. He must find a way to keep the evil from breaking into the Well of Souls, a place outside of space and time, where souls go to commune. Through betrayal, loss, and death they must struggle to fight and face the one being who can infect the souls of all creatures of good heart with his evil. Barty finds himself about to lose the man he loves and all he holds dear. It is up to him and his friends to save these souls and to keep its song from being infected. So, ensues a war of all majical creatures, people, and beast as they battle and fight for the Soul Song.
