Unlike the 1st testament, the 2nd testament is focused on Heaven as she suffers through (more)pain and loss, emptiness and confusion, and unconsciously consoles herself with sex, secrets, and scandal. In the 2nd testament, the reader is granted access into the innermost thoughts of Heaven's mind as she matures into womanhood. It is the summer of 1990 and Heaven has just finished her junior year of college at The Art Institute of Chicago. She is on her way to visit with her favorite Aunt Liz. Again, behaviors and choices resulting from years of incest, molestation, and consensual sex are expressed straightforwardly, as well as, the revelation of many startling family secrets, which are openly discussed. The reader, will most definitely catch a glimpse of themselves or those (of whom) they know in the characters and situations of this book. Nearly too graphic to write about, the book sheds light on many social, religious, financial, cultural, and sexual enigmas plaguing many families in the world today. As the story concludes, the circumstances leading up to the final setting are left up to the reader to imagine what has happened, to whom it has happened, and what will be revealed in the 3rd testament.
