What's Happened to the Years? William M Blacksmith

Remember how we all couldn't wait to get to eighteen? Twenty-one? It seemed like time stood still then. We all had our own reasons for wanting it, voting, college, drinking. At some point age meant becoming an adult, albeit some kids got a head start, getting emancipated, having kids of their own, running away. Then when we hit the magic number, time went into overdrive and the years peeled away and there was no stopping it! But then...then the unfairness of it all, seeing today's teenagers run amok with their freedoms. I suppose that's the price to be paid for wanting to be so interconnected. When we (Boomers) were children, when you went home from a friend's house, you didn't see him/her until the next time-and it didn't matter! Yes, we are guilty of it too, but that's the only way to keep up. I hope, being of that age, technology never stops anyone from stepping in a mud puddle.
