He is the Spirit who inspired David to slay a lion and a bear, stirred David as he defeated the giant with a humble river rock, and He still moves within us in our churches today. The Holy Ghost-one of the three identities of the Triune God next to the Father and the Son-moves on us to save us and prepare the church to become the bride of Christ. Early in his ministry career, Kenneth E. Ishmael realized that there was much he needed to discover about the Spirit who was so integral in his church and its members' lives. Like a powerful wind, the Holy Spirit moved through his congregation, and he soon recognized the formidable authority working within him. He needed to know this Spirit better from the most complete and accurate source: God's Word. In this profound work of biblical analysis, Kenneth E. Ishmael digs to the roots of the Holy Spirit's identity, purpose, work, and historical significance through the words of the Bible. Walking through the Spirit's work from Genesis all the way through the book of Revelation, this practical guide illustrates how the Spirit has given new life, strengthened the weak, and prepared disciples for Christ. Pastors and churchgoers alike will find a foundation of knowledge here that is simply essential for complete understanding of God and His love and purpose for us.
