In the late 21st century, when voyages within the solar system still take years, a hibernation ferry on its way from Titan to Luna is sabotaged and sent on a new course so that Eurussian space pirates can capture its cargo and passengers. Its pilot Jared Lane is forced to reanimate one passenger, Jana Martin, a college gymnast, to assist him. A hastily improvised rescue mission is launched from the Jupiter system, but it won't be able to reach the ferry before the pirates. Neither Jared nor the rescuers are aware that what the hibernation ferry carries on board could change the economic balance of power on Earth. On Luna, Alex Pushkin, an ambitious corporate executive, hopes to use the crisis to depose the company president Sylvia Hall and start a lunar revolution, and he plans to use sex as a weapon. But he doesn't know that his girlfriend Karen, a hard-drinking telepath, is working against him, or that the revamped KGB has its own plans for Alex, Karen, and the lunar revolution. For everyone involved, reaching their destinations will require some major course corrections.
