Love is something that's hard to understand and deal with, especially when you're two teenagers growing up in the 1950s. In what was supposed to be a simpler time, Chris and Lauren find that their love is anything but simple. Lauren is a pessimist about love. She does not trust, respect or care for boys much at all. Chris is a hopeless romantic who strives to change Lauren's pessimistic views. Their lives are followed from adolescence to adulthood. As their lives progress, they must overcome enemies, family and even each other to keep their love alive. Tragedy strikes and Chris and Lauren must put their love to the test. Is there love strong enough to keep them together?
