A Chance of Clouds Lianna Shen 第1 版

In the late 1970s, Polly King marries Peter Young - a handsome, promising catch. They leave the only home she has ever known in Taipei, and fly across the Pacific Ocean to start a new life in Canada. Polly settles happily into her new "Western life" until one day, an unexpected letter arrives, and secrets from her past in Taipei threaten to overturn her now picture-perfect life. In modern-day Calgary, Canada, Polly's daughter Claudia is coming of age as a second-generation Asian-Canadian, growing up with the subtleties of immigrant culture, and experiencing the throes of first love with the son of an English millionaire. When her mother's past starts to catch up, things get a bit more complicated - for everyone. Full of intrigue, A Chance of Clouds is a multi-faceted story that travels across seas and breaks cultural borders, bringing together people of vastly different backgrounds.
