Love's Been Rough on Me is a 1997 album by the Matriarch of R&B, Etta James. Her versatility and powerful voice bridged the gap between rhythm and blues and rock and roll. All the songs on the album sounds fresh and she really can rock in these blues influenced country songs. It just comes straight out of her heart when she's singing about pain and the things she regrets. It's one those wonderful examples of an album from an artist who has been active in the music scene for many years. The album shows Etta James at her best, still blending multiple styles to one effective sound.
