Roberto Carlos Braga is a Brazilian singer-songwriter, also called "O Rei" ("The King") or the "King of Latin Music". Roberto Carlos initiated a major revolution of customs in Brazil in the '60s. Reaching success in a period coinciding with the youth movement started by the Beatles that was taking over the world, Carlos was the leader of the Brazilian pop rock movement Jovem Guarda (or the boom years of the birth of Brazilian and Latin rock). Roberto Carlos has sold over 120 million albums around the world. He is considered one of the most influential artists in Brazil during the 1960s, being cited as a source of inspiration by many artists and bands up to the 1980s.
