'Gratitude' is the second all instrumental CD by Dobro virtuoso Lloyd Thayer, and it picks up where his first CD 'Birds' left off. All of the songs are original compositions, and 14 of them are played solo. Track #11 'Cheney's Plastic Flower Garden' is a duet with fingerstyle guitar great Glenn Jones that weaves it's way through several moods and tempos before culminating in a crescendo that leaves the listener with more questions than answers...........Track #15 is an improvisation with an unidentified chromatic harmonica player who happened to wander in to the studio, and adds yet another element of mystery to the proceedings. The remainder of the tracks are played solo, and cover a wide variety of styles, from Middle Eastern, Jazz, Hungarian, Blues and Bluegrass, played in a way that only Thayer can play them........a truly exceptional album by a one of a kind artist.
