Both remixes created for 12” vinyl use only by Ricardo Villalobos and Max Loderbauer. On October 22nd) The Orb featuring Lee Scratch Perry present new single 'Soulman' on Cooking Vinyl, released on limited edition 12" vinyl. 'Soulman' is an atmospheric, bass-heavy slo-mo house groove adorned with Perry's spiritual proclamations, which comes complete with killer remixes. Villod AKA Ricardo Villlalobos & Max Loderbauer deliver thirteen minutes of quirky abstract brilliance, utilising a low-fi bossa nova beat, perhaps in reference to Perry's classic production on the Congos' 'Congoman'. As well as the main Villod RMX, there are two other versions available on the 12", created with that format in mind. 'Soulman' is the second single from acclaimed album 'The Orb featuring Lee Scratch Perry present The Orbserver in the Star House', which is out now on Cooking Vinyl. Here's the verdict: o "Remarkable, a new masterpiece" 5/5 Artrocker o "A near masterpiece", 9/10 Mixmag o "Album Of the Day" BBC 6 Music o "This alliance is positive for both parties" The Independent o "House-infused future dub featuring Perry's inimitable vocals - a tantalising listen" Clash o "Perry's mad and shamanistic incantations give serious and sweaty human transaction to The Orb's technology" 4/5 The Telegraph o "Perry's stream of non-consciousness fits well over their fluidly spacey electronics , resulting in plenty of moments to savour" BBC.co.uk o "As well as being quite 'out there', it's also rather good" The Guardian o "Another tower of dub to blow the cobwebs from your speakers; Scratch toasts manic over the top of a panorama of perfect, stripped-down backdrops "The Beat o "Journeying into the resonance chamber together, for an album that delves deep into both's interests and histories in dub and studio trickery" The Quietus o "A match made in psychedelic dub heaven!" Dangerous Minds o "The coming together of two very different generations o
