Glenn Gould is one of the most renowned and innovative classical pianists of the last century. This film documents Gould's infamous recordings of Bach's Goldberg Variations at two different times -- as his debut recording in 1951 and in 1981, just one year before his death. This film then is not simply a music video, but also lends insight into the life of an eccentric and brilliant musician.
