Writer/director Guy Myhill makes his feature debut with this British drama. After leaving school 16-year-old Goob Taylor (Liam Walpole) goes to spend the summer with his mum Janet (Sienna Guillory), working in her cafe and pumpkin fields. He has to face challenges of the adult world as his relationship with his mother becomes strained due to the presence of her new boyfriend Gene Womack (Sean Harris), a cruel, womanising stock-car racer.
Meanwhile, Goob falls for Eva (Marama Corlett), a foreign field worker who helps him to imagine a better life.
