Made-for-television crime thriller directed by and starring Burt Reynolds. Logan McQueen (Reynolds) is a tough Miami cop with years of experience on the force. But after a routine stakeout goes dramatically wrong, McQueen finds himself framed for murder and behind bars.

Breaking out of a maximum security prison, McQueen goes on the run so he can find the man who framed him, while ambitious DA Leo Barker (Billy Dee Williams), who sees McQueen's capture as vital to his political career, does his best to hunt him down.
