Live from Austin Tx
Kris Kristofferson
Recorded live from Austin, Texas, in September 1991. Tracklist includes: 'Star-Crossed Lovers', 'You Show Me Yours/Stranger', 'Here Comes The Rainbow', 'Help Me Make It Though The Night', 'Me And Bobby McGee', 'Magdeline', 'Nobody Loves Anybody Anymore', 'Darby's Castle', 'Casey's Last Ride', 'The Pilgrim', 'For The Good Times', 'Lovin Her Was Easier', 'Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down', 'Silver Tongued Devil', 'Smile At Me Again' and 'Why Me Lord'.
Kris Kristofferon has an unusual resumé. He was a football star, boxer, pilot, barkeeper and actor, but on his passport, under “occupation”, it reads “songwriter”. His songs have been recorded by at least 500 other artists, from Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash to Janis Joplin and Ray Charles.
This performance from September 1981 captures Kris in his prime. Classics like 'Me And Bobby McGee', 'Loving Her Was Easier', 'Why Me?' or 'Sunday Morning Comin'Down' take on a whole new meaning coming from the man who wrote and lived the words.
