Box set containing two ballet productions: Billy Strayhorn and Duke Ellington pay tribute to Tchaikovsky's classic ballet score by infusing NUTCRACKER SWEETIES with an irresistible blend of humour, irony, swing, and blues. Evoking 1940s America, with its pom-pom girls, drum majorettes, GIs, sailors, and candy cane, SWEETIES is a treat for the eyes and the ears. Production by Birmingham Royal Ballet, choreography by David Bintley, and costume design by Jasper Conran.
