Hearts Like Distant Stars is his first collection of poetry since the Words sequence of poetry volumes. In this latest collection he moves away from his normal modes of poetic expression and the result is a powerful and varied collection that ranges from interior monologues to dreamy pastorals, taking in outward and inward rages on the way. Central to it all is the semi-abstract dialogue poem that is Two People at a Table.
