A collection of essays on the Eastern Orthodox Christian system of spiritual practices called Hesychasm. The essays explore Hesychasm through the lens of practice theory, hermeneutics, and phenomenology, and utilize both traditional spiritual resources, such as The Philokalia, and other philosophical and theological resources, such as those of post-phenomenology. The dynamics of the Hesychastic system provide a "meditation on practice itself," that also provides the basis for a comparative study of spiritual practices.
