How do we improve our education system so that it really starts doing what it was meant to do?

A good education system is supposed to offer all students the necessary means to grow and achieve their full potential - both academically and socially. Unfortunately, that's not what our current system is doing: a feasible future, the opportunity to become a scholar or a leader, which should be given to all, is guaranteed to a selected few only.
