Surviving as HSP with dissociation
Deni Iseli
As HSP, I realize that my brain records everything from my birth to my death. It is easy to process positive experiences. But it turns out to be difficult or impossible to process my negative experiences. After all, there is no one who can really cure mental problems. I meet people who in some way and to some extent reflect all of my family members. I grew up in a family with the presence of the mental illnesses PTSD, (open and hidden) narcissism, codependency, gaslighting (cunning manipulation technique of hidden narcissism) and TPS. It became clear to me personally that my second ex-husband from Algeria wanted to obtain a European passport through the marriage of convenience (the fake marriage). Of course I also had positive experiences with people I trusted then and who I no longer trusted afterwards. But my brain had especially registered a lot of negative experiences that I, as HSS, will have to process in a realistic way during the rest of my life. Life is now more a matter of survival for me.
