In this alternate history adventure, tens of thousands of subterranean dungeons scatter the American countryside, filled with traps, treasure, and danger at every bend. During nearly a century of economic ruin, many poor American families joined together to create intricate underground dwellings known as dungeons, trapped for protection from raiders and hidden away in forests, lakes, sewers, anywhere. Now that the economy has stabilized and the dungeoneering movement has been left behind, Riv travels the Appalachian mountains delving these dangerous underground structures, searching for valuable, forgotten remnants of Americana while facing off against aggressive wildlife, perilous environments, and even his own past.
