The Slumbering Prince Richard T Wheeler

Through her blood, the Slumbering Prince calls her name. She should never have come to New Babylon. Starting at a new school sucks, more so if the local kids judge you by your last name. Apparently, new girl Liza Templeton's got a history in New Babylon. It was there before she even set foot in the place. And if fitting in - and making friends among a bunch of judgemental jerks - isn't hard enough, there's always the nightmares. On her first night in this strange city, they began. Only, sometimes, nightmares come true. What Liza doesn't know is that her new school has secrets buried deep. Secrets that want her to keep them. And befriending her could have deadly consequences. The Slumbering Prince is the first book in the Shadows and Starlight series, a Gothic Vampire Urban Fantasy, written by Carmen Dominique Taxer - vampire aficionado, owner of every Anne Rice novel ever written, and horror fanatic willing to slog through the best of the worst and vice versa - and co-authored by Richard T. Wheeler, who grew up on marathon Vampire: The Masquerade storytelling sessions (but who secretly thinks Requiem is better). The Slumbering Prince takes a classic Gothic Horror style story and brings it to a modern Vampire Urban Fantasy setting. It is recommended reading for those fed up with limp-cardboard heroines and neutered, sparkly vampires. The human monsters that lurk in New Babylon will draw blood, and they won't stop there.
