Salt + Light Creative Writings is a collection of poetry and prose in which the author, Connie Rae Vidger, expresses honest and deep thoughts and feelings on subjects including family, neighbors and strangers, love, sorrow and loss, Pandemic 2020, and Spirituality. As Connie's life has included deep losses and physical challenges, she shares these journeys openly in creative verse. Although some times have been painful, there has always been the foundation of Christian faith - Many of her writings reflect faith and praise to the God who has brought her through it all. Connie is a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a niece, a friend, a mother and a wife. She holds all of her relationships as sacred and puts love and reflections to creative verse. Author and poet, Cathy Bobb, says this: "Hers is not a theology entombed in books, but her theology is her life: vibrant, relational, compassionate, suffering, comforting, devotional. It's in her. It's in her writing. .. As we read her book, we hear deep calling to deep." Connie is a Board-Certified Chaplain and works as Director of Spiritual Care with seniors and the elderly at a large retirement community and health center in the Pacific Northwest.
