Written and revised over the course of a decade, The Things You Can't Control is a collection of "short stories" written in poetic prose that play with meaning and experiment with the format to challenge the idea of what makes a story. The stories themselves contain a throughline of finding meaning, observing the way we justify our actions, what we experience and how we cope. Dialogue may not be indicated, sentences may purposefully end unfinished, narrators may not always be trustworthy. The reader will move through this themselves, making decisions on purpose and meaning--your projection becomes a part of the narrative.
